Ghost Reveal 2020 New Album Plans
In our final piece of Tobias Forge’s visit to Loudwire Studios, the Ghost mastermind revealed new album plans for 2020. After the extensive touring scheduled for 2019, Forge wants to get back in the studio by early 2020 and release Ghost’s fifth album before the year is over.
Back in November, Forge spoke of potential new music coming in 2019, perhaps in the form of a single or EP. However, this no longer seems to be the plan, as Forge divulged during our 2018 Metal Artist of the Year conversation.
“From our perspective, at least, 2019 is already over. That doesn’t limit me from writing or starting the steps, but when it comes to having a consecutive three months [for] studio time, there is no such time in 2019. That will happen, probably, in Spring 2020. Then you have to add like three months of waiting between recording and releasing. So yeah, you see where I’m going.”
Ghost’s 2019 is already packed with international touring, including a four-month run opening for Metallica next summer. Arena shows in Europe, along with festival gigs in Australia are also on the books. Forge also assures fans if he hasn’t come to their part of the world in a minute, Ghost plan on getting there before too long.
To celebrate the massive finale of Ghost's 'A Pale Tour Named Death,' the band created a video for "Faith" comprised of footage from throughout the run.
