There’s a special kind of pressure that comes with holiday gift giving, especially when the person you’re buying for is someone you don’t exactly dislike… but you don’t not dislike either.

You know the type. Coworkers. Distant relatives. That one person who always ends up in the gift exchange, even though nobody remembers inviting them. You still have to show up with something. Not thoughtful. Not expensive. Just enough to technically count.

That’s where the bad gift shines.

Every holiday season, there’s a whole category of gifts that exist purely to check a box. Stuff you grab while standing in line. Stuff that feels funny for about three seconds, then immediately gets set on a shelf and forgotten. Or quietly regifted next year. Maybe to you.

And honestly, some of them are impressive in their own strange way.

They’re not accidents. Nobody stumbles into buying a wildly unnecessary kitchen gadget or a novelty item that makes no sense outside of a five second joke. These gifts are chosen with intention. The intention just happens to be minimal effort with maximum confusion.

We’ve all opened one. The gift where you smile, say thank you, and instantly start planning where it’ll live until it “disappears.” Probably a junk drawer. Or the garage. Or that closet nobody opens.

This gallery is a tribute to those gifts. The ones you give when you’re obligated, on a budget, or just feeling a little petty. Funny. Questionable. Perfectly holiday appropriate in the worst way.

Scroll through and tell me you haven’t given at least one of these. Or received one. Or both.

The holidays bring out the best in people. And sometimes… the funniest worst ideas too.

Oklahoma's Weirdest Thanksgiving Foods

There is no shortage of weird Thanksgiving traditions around the Sooner State. Even my own family celebrates in our own unique way. Half of us hate turkey, and the others hate ham. Mom hates to spend days cooking for a 20-minute meal, and we all get tired of the leftovers. Instead, we have either a taco fiesta or a Chef Boyardee pizza kit party. Nobody complains.

We're not the only family with a weird Thanksgiving tradition, just take a look at these shockingly common Oklahoma TG dishes. It's amazing what the cooks come up with. The list is heavy on gelatin and jello molds, if anything it'd be worth trying at least one this year. They range from mild to wild, best of luck to you.

The Frozen Wichita Mountains

When Southwest Oklahoma gets a rare blizzard with serious snowfall, the mountains take on a fresh and stunning look. It's something we all get to experience thanks to the video and camera work of a few awesome locals with a stellar YouTube channel, The Pemberton Boys. They flew their drones and explored the mountains across SWOK while the views were grand, putting it online for everyone to enjoy.
