Travel anywhere in Oklahoma and you're bound to find a brewery or a winery. But what's hard to come by is a cidery. In fact, there's only one local cidery in the entire state.

OK Cider launched officially in 2017 and opened its first tap room in downtown Oklahoma City in 2020. Since then, they've been serving unique twists on the classic hard cider. They even have seasonal and holiday flavors year-round.

Why open a cidery in Oklahoma?

Why not is the real question. But according to OK Cider's website, the concept was brewed when one friend who was gluten free couldn't find any delicious gluten-free drinks. So the two friends decided to make their own. After a successful run at the Oklahoma Craft Beer Festival in 2017, OK Cider was born. By the next year, the friends had financed their own business, and in 2020, the tap room was open!

What is cider excatly?

For those that don't know, cider is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented apples. And for those who can't have gluten, cider is almost always gluten-free. So if you're gluten-intolerant, or if you just love apple juice, then cider is the perfect drink for you.
