Arrrrr, matey! Have you seen the Wolfforth Pirate Ship that sails in for Halloween?

The owners started the pirate ship back in 2005, but five years ago they built a new one. For some, it might be something they've never heard of, while others say it's a long-standing tradition they have to do every year with their kids.

The owners of the house told me they receive approximately 1,500 trick-or-treaters and between 5,000 and 7,500 visitors on Halloween. They give out free popcorn and hot chocolate and have games of chance to play as well. They also hand out tons of stuffed animals, t-shirts, basketballs and, of course, you can't forget about the pirate swords. The owner also has a huge Halloween village inside the house that people can visit, compete with Halloween tree built in a full-size coffin.

This year they have some new stuff they will be adding like new animatronics and a few different prizes, including TTU basketballs.

People start coming to visit the pirate ship around 4 p.m. on Halloween night, and the owners power through until they run out of popcorn. If you want to avoid their busiest time, which is 7 p.m., I recommend going early.

They're ready for the masses this year, with four industrial popcorn machines and plans to serve up to 2,000 cups of hot chocolate.

While their house is definitely the place to be, the Wolfforth Pirate Ship owners say they have a ton of neighbors who participate in Halloween as well. The entire neighborhood is a hotspot for trick-or-treaters, so the City of Wolfforth helps by providing extra police and dumpsters, along with their crew of 12 that helps.

The Wolfforth Pirate Ship should be ready to set sail and land in Wolfforth by October 21st. Don't forget to dress up and have a good time.

To check them out ahead of time and see pictures from the past, visit their Facebook page. They're located at 316 Raider Blvd in Wolfforth, Texas.
