Is That Really An Alligator Swimming In Lake Eufaula?
There's a video circulating on Oklahoma's social media that is causing some concern.
Right at the beginning of summer, are there alligators in Lake Eufaula?
While that wouldn't be completely unheard of... gators do occasionally stray from their swampy homes down in SEOK... But a gator being in Eufaula this time of year would be way out of the ordinary. But if it's on the internet, it has to be true, right?
Here's the video.

Yep, that does look like a gator casually looking on to whatever is happening off-screen, but does it pass the sniff test?
Officially, and this is from the Lake Eufaula website, there are no gators. None.
There have been cases where alligators have been found and safely relocated in the past, but not in nearly a decade since the last confirmed sighting.
So, is this a new sighting?
Doubt.
After doing a deep dive on the web and scrolling through thousands of comments, this is most likely a really convincing prank.
Radio-controlled boats are becoming mainstream again, and one of them looks exactly like an alligator's head. Identical.
If you look it up on YouTube, the videos are hilarious. Even if you knew deep down that wasn't a real gator, you'd probably freak out too.
So this is a hoax?
No, it's TikTok. Nothing on TikTok is real.
This is just a couple of Okies having a fun time on our state's biggest lake.
