Led Zepplin Honored With A Cover That Has A Lot Of Heart [VIDEO]
There are very few artists that I am crazy enough about to watch and/or listen to repeatedly time after time, ad infinitum. Led Zeppelin is one of those few artists.
And Heart is one of the very few others.
So every time I come across this incredible tribute, I can’t seem to stop watching it. I have watched it three times while writing this.
Performed by two members of Heart; Ann and Nancy Wilson, "Stairway To Heaven" was carried out for the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012. Everything about this performance is fantastic; I especially loved the orchestration of the piece. It very well maybe the best tribute ever (Even better than Ann & Nancy's version of "Rock And Roll").
This song will always hold a special meaning to me. I used to sing my daughter Danielle to sleep with it every night. And when she was old enough, she would sing it with me until she fell off to sleep. I was choking up a little when I saw Robert Plant’s eyes glazed with tears as the song came to a finish. Apparently I wasn't the only one in appreciation of the tribute.
