Iconic metal frontman Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, ex-Sepultura) and his drummer brother Igor "Iggor" Cavalera (Cavalera Conspiracy, ex-Sepultura) will tour the United States this summer with a celebratory set of classic Sepultura material in honor of the Brazilian band's classic albums Beneath the Remains (1989) and Arise (1991).

Both Cavaleras were founding members of Sepultura. Max departed in 1996, followed by Iggor a decade later. Max started Soulfly in 1997 and has since moonlighted in Killer Be Killed and Nailbomb. Iggor, who also played in Nailbomb and Strife, started Cavalera Conspiracy with his brother in 2007.

The Cavaleras revealed in a statement on Monday (March 7), "Announcing the 'Max & Iggor Cavalera 89/91 tour' — celebrating the legendary albums Beneath the Remains and Arise."

It continued, "The original founding members of influential RIAA gold-certified Brazilian heavy metal legend Sepultura, Max and Iggor Cavalera, will celebrate the legendary albums Beneath the Remains and Arise by performing a hybrid setlist exclusively with songs from both albums, throughout the United States, in May and June of 2022."

The Cavaleras prepped concertgoers for the retrospective U.S. trek in 2020 when Max said, "We are just paying tribute to our old records. We played [1996's] Roots for a while, and last year, we did a lot of Beneath the Remains and Arise together, and that was great."

He added, "Those records are so iconic; they're masterpieces of that era. So we're gonna do more of that."
