Update: It has now been revealed that singer Aaron Pauley was the one with the medical issue that needed to be addressed. The musician required surgery and has been ordered to rest during a two-week recovery period. As such, the band will have to put off the start of their upcoming tour, and will now return to the stage on April 27 in Houston. Read Pauley's comments and the band's statement below.

Of Mice & Men were forced to cancel multiple tour dates this week because of a pressing medical issue, the specifics of which were not immediately disclosed Monday in a statement shared online by the nu-metalcore quartet.

"We're very sorry to announce that due to a medical situation that requires immediate urgent attention we are being forced to cancel our show tonight and our other shows this week," the band communicated via social media.

The four scrapped shows were scheduled for yesterday, April 8, at the Green Room in Flagstaff, Ariz.; Tuesday, April 9, at the Mesa Theater in Grand Junction, Colo.; Friday, April 12, at the Foundry in Lakewood, Colo.; and Saturday, April 13, at Lost Horizon in Syracuse, N.Y. The tour will resume next week, beginning with three concerts in Canada before linking up with Beartooth for a run of dates.

Last month, Of Mice & Men cancelled a performance in Hartford, Ct., when singer and bassist Aaron Pauley was treated at the hospital following a health scare that went similarly undisclosed. While band members said he was hospitalized for "testing," the musician called the incident "one of the scariest days of [his] life."

Hey everyone- we're very sorry to announce that due to a medical situation that requires immediate urgent attention we are being forced to cancel our show tonight and our other shows this week in Grand Junction, Lakewood and Syracuse. We will have more information shortly, but for now we ask for your understanding and patience. We assure you we would not be canceling anything if it wasn't 100% necessary. Thank you
