It really does seem like the world gets a little smaller every day thanks to the internet. We use it in all facets of life for communication and social interactions, but the biggest use of the web is business.

Whether you're a consumer who buys up everything they can online, where the prices are often much cheaper even with shipping, or a retailer trying to grow your customer base, the web is where everything in modern life happens.

Here are seven Oklahoma companies that sell worldwide on Amazon.

Simple Modern

Simple Modern is an Oklahoma City-based company that came about in the right place at the right time. With the popularity of big dumb cups, Simple Modern was able to get a leg up on the massive competition through exclusive licensing deals with movies, comics, etc...

In 2022, they even started manufacturing some of their own products right here in Oklahoma, with a plan to expand that sort of downstream development. It's an Oklahoma brand and they manufacture (some things) in the state.

Enbath

Even though Enbath is overwhelmingly utilized for the commercial spaces across the Sooner State, they still offer things for in the home. Mainly bathroom accessories.

They may not actually make any of it on Oklahoma's red clay soil, but they qualify since taxes are taxes and it all funnels its way to the Sooner State.

Cookshack

In a true American Dream story, Cookshack got started in the backyard of a man named Gene Ellis. He loved to barbeque, and as charcoal tends to end up in a fight over smoke and heat, he eventually went through several different designs until settling on sheet metal BBQ boxes.

What Gene started, his children took to the next level, creating some of the earliest smart pellet smokers/grills on the market, all still made here in Northern Oklahoma.

Even though they are super pricey, those who can afford them have nothing but the best to say about their smoker/grills. There's no telling how many competitions these units have won over the years.

Griffin Foods

While the details on exactly where our modern Griffin Syrup is made nowadays aren't super clear, they did get their start in Oklahoma over 100 years ago. They're still based here in Oklahoma, up in Muskogee.

With a legacy so old, odds are you've eaten it before at any number of restaurants and chains throughout America.

Head Country BBQ

Known best for the sauce, Head Country was born in the galley of a WWII battleship when Fred Head whipped up a sauce to improve the food being served to sailors. After winning our second World War, Head returned home to Oklahoma and began to perfect his recipe.

Not too sweet, not too savory, the world's most perfect barbeque sauce quickly became a family favorite and the #1 selling sauce in Oklahoma. The company has changed hands a few times over the years, mostly between family members, before becoming a corporation that still manufactures Head Country BBQ sauces and seasonings in a little warehouse up in Ponca City.

It really is the best.

Shawnee Mills

You've probably seen this on store shelves before, and maybe you're a fan, but did you know it's made in Shawnee, Oklahoma? A business born in 1906, Shawnee Mills has been producing milled ingredients and pre-packaged mixes since before Oklahoma was Oklahoma.

Known best for pancakes and cornbread mix, don't sleep on their country gravy and brownie mixes either.

Nonni's Bakery

Known best for their sweet treats, Nonni's ships their wares to all corners of the earth from the headquarters in Tulsa. Next time you want to make your own European cookie-butter, read a label.

While it's important to be considerate with your individual purchasing power, you can still support a lot of Oklahoma businesses pretty far and wide online. You might have to check other retailers to find the best price over Amazon, but a big chunk of that money comes home to Oklahoma anyway.

9 Chain Restaurants Founded In Oklahoma

While some Oklahoma original restaurants are obvious and common knowledge, there are a few that will likely surprise you having a start in the Sooner State. At least, they were shockers to me. Whether you want burgers, BBQ, pizza, breakfast, or Tex-Mex, the tastes of Oklahoma stretch far beyond our border.

Oklahoma's Best Gas Station Chains

Depending on where you are in Oklahoma, there are gas station chains specific to that area. For the most part, they all have their own niche and stay to their respective boundaries. Some are better than others, some are absolutely loathed. The question remains, as we wait on Buc-ees to make an entrance to the Oklahoma travel center landscape, can any of these brands hold a candle to the Texas giant?
