When it comes to job availability at the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, positions are generally few and far between. Perhaps that's a testament to how good it is to work in the organization, so little turnover.

Most of the positions that come available are in the various fisheries around the state, a few biologist jobs, the normal office jobs and the like... but this time around, ODWC is looking to fill several game warden positions.

ODWC is currently seeking to hire twelve new game wardens to do what game wardens do. Sometimes it's just interrupting someone's peaceful day of fishing to check licenses and stringers, other times you'd be in hot pursuit of lowly poachers.

It really is a dream job for so many Oklahoma outdoor enthusiasts, but you'll need a little more than know-how to qualify.

In general, you'll need a bachelors degree with some study in biology and some serious physical abilities. As it's also considered law enforcement, you'll need to be able to become CLEET certified within your first year of employment and such. All of the fine details are listed on the job posting.
