The big talk around the water cooler today has been the History Channel's 'The Bible' miniseries. Sunday night's episode has caused quite a controversy when viewers recognized the similarities of the actor who portrays Satan (Mehdi Ouzaani) and President Barack Obama.

As expected social media sites exploded with activity! Twitter and Facebook were over run by comments and pictures of the 'Satan-Obama' look a like. Even memes started popping up all over the web with lightning speed. Some think it's intentional, others think it's accidental. You gotta admit the resemblance is uncanny! Intentional or not, the History Channel and the show's creators and producers have been getting hammered for this!

The History Channel and the executive producers of 'The Bible' Mark Burnett and Roma Downey have come out and addressed the issue of the Satan-Obama controversy. “History channel has the highest respect for President Obama".

They went on to say: "The series was produced with an international and diverse cast of respected actors. It’s unfortunate that anyone made this false connection. History’s The Bible is meant to enlighten people on its rich stories and deep history.”

Mark Burnett and Roma Downey responded to the ideal that Satan was intentionally viewed and cast to look like President Obama as coincidence. “This is utter nonsense! The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouzaani, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played parts in several Biblical epics including Satanic characters long before Barack Obama was elected as our President. Both Mark and I have nothing but respect and love our President, who is a fellow Christian. False statements such as these are just designed as a foolish distraction to try and discredit the beauty of the story of The Bible.”
