Septicflesh Announce 10th Studio Album ‘Codex Omega’ + Unveil New Track ‘Dante’s Inferno’

Septicflesh are roaring back with a new album of orchestral death metal! The Greek extremists have just unleashed “Dante’s Inferno,” the first track from their upcoming 10th studio album, Codex Omega.

A little over 10 years ago, Septicflesh reunited after four years apart, setting the stage for their greatest works. Septicflesh released back-to-back masterworks with Communion and The Great Mass, cementing themselves as one of the most powerful and creative modern death metal bands. 2014’s Titan was excellent, as well, so you know fans are pumped for Codex Omega.

“Dante’s Inferno” once again showcases the FILMharmonic Orchestra of Prague, who have been featured on all of Septicflesh’s post-breakup albums. "We are proud to present the first track from the upcoming album, Codex Omega,” says guitarist Sotiris V. “The song is appropriately entitled ‘Dante's Inferno,’ acting as a gateway to hell... as it was inscribed on the top of the Hellgate in the famous poem by Dante Alighieri, 'Through me you pass into the city of woe; Through me you pass into eternal pain; Through me among the people lost for aye.' This is just the first glimpse - the entrance to our new album. Stay tuned as more will gradually be revealed with the release date of our new album getting closer..."

Produced by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Dimmu Borgir), Septicflesh’s Codex Omega will see a Sept. 1 release date via Prosthetic Records.
