Soccer Player Makes Diving Save, Slides Groin-First Into Goalpost
There are times in sports where giving that little bit of extra effort is a good thing but don't tell that to one Polish soccer player who took one for the team while saving a goal.
Polish defender Lukasz Piszczek of the reigning German Bundesliga champion Borussia Dortmund was the last line of defense during a recent game against Hanover 96. A Hanover striker appeared to have an easy goal as the Borussia goalie was out of the position. As the shot is almost certain to go in, Piszczek makes a diving save with his leg.
Sadly for Lukasz, the save comes at a price -- his slide sends him groin-first into one of the goalposts.
