Social Distortion Announce Star-Filled 40th Anniversary Concert

"Life goes by so fast / You only want to do what you think is right / Close your eyes and then it's past / Story of my life." Those words will definitely be fitting as Social Distortion celebrates their 40th year in the rock world with a special concert in the home base of Southern California this fall.

The band will take over the Five Point Amphitheatre in Orange County, California on Oct. 26 and they're inviting some of their favorite acts to join them in the celebration of their career.

Frontman Mike Ness says, “Sending out an invitation to everyone to join us and share in the celebration of our 40 year Anniversary. We have picked some of our favorite bands for a spectacular bill. We couldn’t have done it without our fans so thank you!”

Joining them for this special show will be Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, The Distillers, The Kills, Frank Turner, Eagles of Death Metal, The Black Lips, Plague Vendor, Bully and Mannequin Pussy. Tickets for the show go on sale this Thursday (Aug. 29) at 10AM PT via Ticketmaster.

Ness formed Social Distortion in nearby Fullerton, California and over the years, their Southern California stops have been some of the band's biggest performances. Titled "Sounds From Behind the Orange Curtain, 40 Years of Social Distortion," the show promises to be a celebration not only of their music but of the local community that has long supported them.

Their career has yielded seven studio album and generated such fan favorite hits as "Story of My Life," "Ball and Chain," "Bad Luck," "I Was Wrong," "Reach for the Sky" and their cover of the Johnny Cash favorite "Ring of Fire." It was revealed earlier this year that the band is working on their eighth studio album.
