Steve Aoki Honors Chester Bennington in New Remix of Linkin Park’s ‘One More Light’
Chester Bennington's death has been a reminder that Linkin Park has had a vast spectrum of influence to different musicians, inside of their own genre and out. This can be seen in the band's multiple collaborations with EDM artist Steve Aoki, who worked with them on their single "A Light That Never Comes." Today, Aoki has released the newest remix, a take on the group's single "One More Light."
In the recent months, "One More Light" has become a standout track from the group's album of the same name. Aoki's take on the song plays up the emotive elements of the song, interjecting a flickering and flashy electronic interlude into its DNA. The focus of the remix remains firmly on the place of Chester, as the remix is a larger tribute. The remix may surprise a lot of fans of Linkin Park, as it never goes overboard in combining Aoki's own EDM to the mix.
Tonight (Oct. 27), Linkin Park will be taking the stage for the first time since Chester's death, as part of their tribute show at the Hollywood Bowl. The entire night will be streaming live tonight from their YouTube channel tonight at 7:45 PST. They will be joined by Avenged Sevenfold's M. Shadows and Synyster Gates, Korn's Jonathan Davis, System of a Down's Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan, the members of Blink-182, Bring Me the Horizon's Oli Sykes, Yellowcard's Ryan Key, Machine Gun Kelly and recent duet partner Kiiara.
