From the twisted mind of the one and only Devin Townsend, the follow-up to 'Ziltoid the Omniscient' is coming soon. Fans have been begging for the return of their favorite coffee-drinking extraterrestrial, and finally, Townsend will begin dedicating his time to 'Z2' as he enters the studio in May.

The immediacy of social media allows musicians to reveal behind the scenes information about what they are working on without having to wait for a magazine to be published or an interview to be transcribed. That's exactly what Devin Townsend did on Twitter yesterday (Dec. 30), updating the progress of new material.

Serj Tankian, Devin Townsend, Ihsahn (ex-Emperor) and Ray Holroyd (12 Ton Method) recently teamed up to record a song honoring former South African president Nelson Mandela, and now the lyric video for 'We Are' has been released (watch above).
