The future of Australian deathcore act Thy Art Is Murder was a little unclear when lead vocalist CJ McMahon left the band at the tail end of 2015, citing financial reasons that necessitated not touring with the band. The group used a variety of different touring vocalists for a while, nothing completely catching on. Thankfully, the band is back with McMahon, who rejoined the outfit earlier this year at Victoria Australia's Unify Festival, confirming he's returning to the group full time.

Today, the band announced their fourth full-length album Dear Desolation, the follow-up to 2015's Holy War, a new record with McMahon back in the saddle. They've also shared the lead single and first video for the album, "Slaves Beyond Death," which you can listen to now.

The band wastes no time in pummeling on the track, featuring ultra quick drumbeats courtesy of longtime drummer Lee Stanton, and machine gun like riffage from Sean Delander. The album was produced by Will Putney, who has become the genre's go to guy for great sound in recent years, working on albums by the likes of Every Time I Die, Body Count and The Amity Affliction, to name a few.

McMahon is as positive as ever in his return to the band, saying, "I feel the strongest I've ever felt going into a record. Coming back to the fold of our band has reinvigorated me. I missed my brothers, touring and of course all our dedicated fans around the world who have always given us their all."

He promises the record will be the band's best, saying, "This new record is going to shape our future; we gave it everything we could and then some. In the past, I was the weakest link and now that I have re-built myself, we are stronger than ever and nothing can stand in our way."

Listeners of the band can now pre-order the record from Nuclear Blast on a variety of formats, and will receive "Slaves Beyond Death" as a download. Check out the artwork for Dear Desolation, and you can find the band on tour as a part of the "Double Homicide Tour," where they will be joined by Decapitated, Fallujah and Ghost Bath.
