Townsquare Pet Patrol
From shelters to foster and adoption groups, there are many different options when you are looking to add a new four-legged member to your family. Every week Townsquare's Pet Patrol, brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital, highlights adoptable pets from across the Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas areas, hoping to find homes for shelter pets from throughout the region.
This week we are highlighting animals from 12 shelters, and hope to add more as momentum builds for this project. We will also be featuring information on upcoming events at our local shelters, as well as bringing you information on upcoming fund raising activities for these organization.
The Pet Patrol is brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital. We would also like to thank Just 4 K9s and Kitty 2, your home for grooming supplies, as well as all of your pets' needs, from food to beds to toys. Please remember to spay and neuter, and of course to adopt, not shop!
UPCOMING EVENTS
Friends of the Elgin Animal Shelter are conducting a 'Clear The Shelter' event from Monday, Sept 26th to Saturday, Sept 30th. All adoptions are FREE and are by appointment only. This event features all dogs and cats currently in the Elgin Shelter 7 months or older. Adopters are responsible for spay and neutering and all vaccinations. Friends Fur Change in Chickasha is conducting the next Day and Neuter Clinic spay and neuter clinic on Friday, September 29th. The event will be held at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course 2900 South 16th

Friends Fur Change in Chickasha is conducting and adoption clinic on Saturday, September 30th from 9am to 5pm. The all day event will take place at the PetSense in Chickasha, 1786 S. 4th Street.
Friends Fur Change will have many furry kids spayed/neutered ready to be adopted! Every cat and dog will have their up to date shot records! We will have our First National Bank BBQ all donations go straight to Friends Fur Change! Chickasha Cricket Wireless will have tons of drinks for sale and all donations go straight to Friends Fur Change! We will have a fabulous table full of raffle prizes from local businesses! Stephens County Humane Society is currently looking for sponsors for their “Bark in the Park” event scheduled for Saturday, October 21st in Duncan. Past support of this event has helped to provided food, shelter, spaying and neutering services and medical care for the thousands of animals that go through their shelters every year. It is your involvement that turns these lost souls into happy, loving companions for future adopters. Rainbow Bridge Can Wait has recently lost several of their foster families and is currently looking for temporary homes that can take in one or two animals, especially larger dogs, while they search for their fur-ever homes. This pretty girl came to the Stephens County Humane Society as a stray after being found wandering alone on Hwy 81. A Good Samaritan found her, rounded her up and brought her in.
Sassy is only about 6 months old and is incredibly intelligent, just hoping to find someone to show how smart. She is friendly, sociable and very people oriented. Raining her and funneling her puppy

This is Avionna, and she is so pretty! She is a young, high energy dog, who likes people & dogs but doesn't seem to consistently recognize when other dogs don't want to play or are done playing. She is house & kennel trained, and does alright on a leash after the initial excitement. Would do best in an active home. We don't recommend Avionna for families with small children, as she's a bit high energy and likely to knock them down.
Avionna's adoption Fee is 150.00 dollars, and all Rainbow Bridge Can Wait’s companions are spayed or neutered, come with age appropriate shots, dewormed, and on flea and heartworm preventatives. They are also microchipped, and RBCW pays the activation into adopters name. All of our dogs also qualify for a free month of health insurance, upon adoption. The adopter must activate insurance at time of adoption.

This lovely little lady is Sadie, and she came into Elgin from the Mangum Shelter, where she was on her final days. This girl is 15 months old, up to date on all of her vaccinations and spayed.

Scruffy is an 8 month old wire doxie mix. He does well with other dogs and cats. He does however chase chickens so he wouldn't make a good farm dog. He is up-to-date on his vaccinations, and is looking for the right family to help him burn his puppy energy.

Look at this handsome boy! Vanilla Ice is just the sweetest most beautiful boy. He is under six months old and loves to play. So far he has no other color popping up on his fur making him an all white cat. He loves playing with his brother and cage mates, all boys. They also love to sleep curled together.
Vanilla Ice would love to be adopted either with a sibling or without since he plays well with others and by himself with toys. Come see Vanilla Ice and his brothers ans sisters!
