SWOK Has Some Of The Cheapest Gas In Oklahoma
Not even six months ago, gas hit a seven-year high and every expert and futures trader on Wall Street hedged their bets that gasoline and diesel would be going up. Amid the pandemic, rampant inflation, and WWIII those predictions have come to bear fruit.
Gas is nearly back to the record highs from the last big recession.
Naturally, everyone wants to get their gas as cheap as possible but they tend to do it all wrong. Instead of driving all the way across town to get gas a few pennies cheaper, try to take care of that in your normal travels. Add it to your morning or evening commute. That way you're not making a special trip using your gas to get more gas.
Also, you might look into rewards programs at the various different stations in the area. Some offer points, get a card and take X-amount off each tank for a few months, I do believe EZGO will knock 7¢ per gallon off the price if you sign up for the free cash saver card.
Shockingly, Southwest Oklahoma is once again among the cheapest places in Oklahoma to fill up, which is super weird given all the gasoline in trucked in from quite the drive away... at least that's a common belief. I wouldn't expect Lawton to have a super-secret petroleum rack somewhere in town, but stranger things have happened.
Also, ethanol-infused E-10 is super common at almost every gas station in 73501-73505 zip codes... As it's generally much cheaper than real gas, maybe that's what skews our average prices down too far each month.
If you want to keep an eye on prices hoping to score a deal, here's AAA.
