Quarterback Jack Meservy led the No. 4 Lawton High to a 28-0 lead early in the second quarter en route to a 42-28 win over the Choctaw Yellow Jackets Friday night. With the victory, Lawton clinched the 6AII-2 title, finishing the regular season at 9-1 and the conference at 7-0.

Meservy led the way for the Wolverines, going 15-19 passing for 289 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown, a 74 yard pitch and catch with Kalin Sadler got the Wolverines on the board in the first quarter. Tre Curry then added touchdown runs of 8, 6 and 4 yards to give Lawton a 28-0 lead. Dareyl Patterson led the Lawton ground attack with 170 yards on 21 carries while Curry added 66 yards and three scores on 13 rushes and Dequan Weaver amassed 42 yards on 9 carries. Meservy had 8 yards rushing and also scored a pair of touchdown on 1 yard plunges.

Aside from quarterback Jonah Llanusa, the Yellow Jackets couldn't seem to do much on offense Friday night. The senior signal call ran for 132 yards and all four Yellow Jacket touchdowns on 25 carries, while going 22-36 passing for 312 yards passing, but tossed 2 costly interceptions to Mahlik Hanna.

The Wolverines enter the playoffs ranked #1 in the 6A-II conference. They will host 5-5 Bartlesvillehe in the first round of the playoffs. Game time is set for 7:00 Friday night at Cameron Stadium.
