10 WTF Ad Campaigns
Welcome to WTF ad school, your 5-minute guide to creating and marketing a successful product. Let's begin.
First, figure out what need you are trying to fill. What product or service is sorely missing from the lives of American consumers?
Finding a new way to use existing products is a great way to introduce a fresh product to the market.
Before committing to production, ask yourself: Do people want this?
One useful product strategy is to make a product that stands the test of time. Ask yourself -- Can my customer outgrow us? Lifelong loyalty is a major asset.
Once you know who your target audience is, make sure that your advertising language respects their cultural values.
Be clear and simple in your advertising - What are you offering?
Keep it current with pop culture references that resonate with your audience, and never be afraid to use eye candy: Sex sells, after all.
Don't be afraid to prey on your consumer's human fears. Some popular ones are: rejection, fitting in, bad breath, dying alone, and throwing your own excrement.
Put a face to your brand to help your customers feel confident. Buyers want to know that there's a human behind the operation who will stand behind the product or service.
Lastly, once you have a solid customer base, work on expanding your audience by introducing your product to those who might not know that they need it.
