Current Brooklyn Nine-Nine star and former SNL star Andy Samberg started off the 2015 Emmys in hilarious fashion. After an opening musical number reminiscent of the Lonely Island / SNL digital shorts, Samberg took the stage to warm up the crowd and remind everyone that no, Justin Timberlake wasn’t going to show up.

But tonight the Academy recognized Patricia Arquette, giving her the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2015 Oscars for her moving performance in Richard Linklater’s Boyhood.

We all watch the Oscars for different reasons. Some watch for the sheer spectacle. Some watch to see if the movies they like actually win something. Some watch so they can drunkenly criticize what everyone is wearing. But in the end, it all comes down to all viewers doing the exact same thing: watching people thank other people for upwards of three hours. ESPN Sports anchor and NBA analyst Stuart Scott passed away this morning (January 5th). Stuart lost his long battle with cancer, having twice driven the disease into remission. Scott was 49.
Just when you thought 2014 couldn't be going any better for former 'SNL' head writer, star, and current 'Late Night' host Seth Meyers, the former "Weekend Update" host will really have a weekend to handle. NBC has announced that Seth Meyers will make his Emmy hosting debut as the 2014 host of the 66th annual Emmy Awards, picking up from previous host Neil Patrick Harris!
