Chow Down At This Chuck Wagon Festival In Oklahoma City
Some of the best events involve food, and when I tell you that the annual Chuck Wagon Festival in Oklahoma City has some of the best food, I ain't lying! Hosted by the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, this annual event is a fun and yummy time for the whole family.

This year's Chuck Wagon Festival will be the 32nd annual festival, which according to the website, is a celebration of Western and Native American history, art and cuisine for all ages. Just talking about the festival has my mouth watering for some of the festival's fresh biscuits. I can smell the big pot of beans cooking over an open fire, and I'm getting anxious for a bite of warm peach cobbler.
This will be the second year for Native American food at the annual Chuck Wagon Festival.
Now, it's been a few years since I've been to the annual Chuck Wagon Festival, and according to its website, this will be the second year that Native American food will be available. Attendees will have the opportunity to chat with the chef and learn about the history and tradition of Native foods.
And, of course, there will still be several chuck wagons from around Oklahoma and surrounding states cooking up some delicious traditional cowboy cooking. And maybe you'll catch Tim, #HashtagTheCowboy, enjoying some campfire coffee in his iconic museum mug.
There's more than just food at the Chuck Wagon Festival!
While you're chowing down on some fresh corn bread, you can also enjoy the festival's live music and dancing. If you've got the kids or grandkids with you, they can enjoy activities such as ropemaking, archery, arts and crafts and a petting zoo. There's so much to do at the annual Chuck Wagon Festival! The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum will also be open during the festival, so it's a great time to check out the museum if you haven't before.
