We have all heard the story of firefighters rescuing kittens trapped in a tree. On Sunday morning firefighters from the Oklahoma City fire department went one better...they rescued a cow in a swimming pool.

Early Sunday morning a home owner heard "snorting noises" coming from the area of his swimming pool. Firefighters arrived at the home and soon discovered a hole in the swimming pool liner and a cow trapped in the water underneath. Battalion Chief Benny Fulkerson says responders the used pumps to remove about 5 feet of water from the pool to prevent the animal from suffering hypothermia. A wrecker was then brought in and the 1500 pound bovine was lifted from the pool and delivered to safety. The cow appeared to be unharmed after its mooooving ordeal.
