Before announcing their new album, Evolution, Disturbed polled fans asking them if they wanted to hear a heavy song or a ballad for the first single. Heaviness prevailed and the veteran band released "Are You Ready" and now it appears we've arrived at the ballad as Disturbed have debuted "A Reason to Fight," which can be heard above.

David Draiman's gentle croon is set against delicate acoustic guitar work. The song's energy gradually builds with subtle melodies to add some dramatic tension as Disturbed tease the impactful moments yet to come over the chorus.

"If I died after this record came out and this was the end of our legacy, I'd be okay with that," Draiman said of the new album in a discussion with Metal Hammer. "To me, this is our 'Black Album.' We've always used [the 'Black Album'] as a goal — the record that literally every single track on it could be a hit — a record that breaks doors down, that opens up new opportunities to us, that helps you achieve true immortality as an artist," he continued, comparing the new record to Metallica's groundbreaking 1991 release.

Evolution comes out October 19 through Reprise Records and pre-orders for the album can be placed here. It's also been confirmed that Disturbed will hit the road on a North American tour next year. So far, they've listed 26 cities on the run and have promised more will be announced, but have yet to share any specific dates.
