This Saturday is National Museum Day across the country, and in the spirit of teaching and learning, a ton of museums are ditching the entry and ticket fees to allow you free access. And not to be outdone by other states, Oklahoma has doubled down with a surprising number of museums participating.

Here's how it works. You can download your free museum tickets here. Each email address gets you two tickets to use at any of the museums listed below. The closest being the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center in Duncan, and several others within a few hours drive of SWOK. You'll definitely want to hit the Oklahoma History Center in OKC if you can, plus the Stafford Air & Space Museum in Weatherford is insanely cool.

At the current time, it doesn't appear any of the Lawton museums are participating, but you might give them a call just to double check. Our Museum of the Great Plains is a fantastic place to visit, but not on a weekend where you can access other destinations for free.

With the current rain in the forecast, you might just get an edge over Mother Nature and spend it inside a museum where it's nice and dry.
