The day has finally arrived, well almost. The new Lawton Public Safety Center will be opening soon and they're inviting everyone out to a Grand Opening celebration on Friday, May 14th (05-14-21) from 10:00am until 1:000pm. The new city building is located at 100 South Railroad Street, it's on the corner of Gore Boulevard and Railroad, you can't miss it. Staff from the Lawton Police Department, Fire Department and the Municipal Court will be doing tours of the new facility. All are welcome, all they ask is that you wear a face mask or covering while inside visiting and taking the tour. I can't wait to see it and take the tour!

Construction has been on going since October of 2017 so it's taken a little over 4 years to complete. As big as this property is and all that will be housed in it I thought it would take longer to build. But even with the COVID-19 pandemic it was built pretty quick and will soon be open and fully operational.

The new Lawton Public Safety Center will be the new home for Central Fire Station along with the Lawton Police Department. The new center will also be the new home for the city jail and municipal court, it'll be a one stop stop. It's a beautiful building, not to mention HUGE! Looking forward to seeing the inside and all that they've done with all the various departments. It's definitely going to be state of the art! The wait's almost over it will officially be open on Friday, May 14th (05-15-21).
