Homeless Man Vows to Share Fortune After Winning $50,000 Lottery Jackpot

A homeless man in Bloomington, Illinois is ready to spread the wealth.

Dennis Mahurin, a homeless man who’s been living in a tent since 1978, recently won $50,000 playing the lottery.

Mahurin has no plans to let his newfound fortune change him, but he does hope it will change others:

With all the other homeless people around here, I've already made up my mind. I'm gonna give them each $100."

A woman who works at the convenience store says Mahurin totally deserved to win, adding, "He’s a very, very nice guy. He's one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I've been telling everybody, this couldn't have happened to a nicer guy."

Mahurin does have some plans for any money that's left over. He hopes to take a trip to visit his son, get some dental work, maybe set some aside for savings and, of course, buy a new tent.
