It was only a few months ago in August that the public was let in on the trouble with Big Lots! Closure announcements hit all of the states around Oklahoma, but not the Sooner State itself, until now.

Big Lots! has been trying to save itself for months, closing some stores in hopes to prop itself up, but it just wasn't in the cards. They just announced they will close all remaining stores and completely go out of business.

It did appear Big Lots! would be spared in the last few weeks, but a deal with another investor just fell through. That leaves only two things to do for the nationwide retailer.

One: They'll immediately start the going-out-of-business sales at every location still open.

Two: They're still hopeful a Hail Mary last-minute deal or merger will save the brand from becoming the next Gibsons - AKA - gone with the wind.

Is there any chance Big Lots! will be saved?

Yes. Although it's a very, very slim chance.

Big Lots! CEO Bruce Thorn is hopeful another company will come along and purchase what is left, but they're moving ahead with closures and inventory sell-offs.

While the news in August covered BL locations outside of Oklahoma, this news affects every BL location left standing. This could be the final end to a storied nationwide business.
