Lawton residents on the west side noticed a signature building was demolished Tuesday at the corner of 67th Street and Cache Road. The building that housed a beloved donut shop and tattoo parlor, and one that sported an iconic mural of the Eagles, was torn down.

The physical address of the former building is 6550 NW Cache Road, and previously held Shine On Tattoo, Jackson Hewitt Tax Services and Russell's Donuts. In 2020, the Shaw Brothers painted a mural of the Eagles on the west side of the building to help raise funds for Terry Shaw's son who was battling a rare form of MS at the time.

As of Tuesday, February 10, the businesses are no longer at that location and the mural is permanently gone.

What is going in at the corner of 67th Street and Cache Road?

On Tuesday, word began circling across Lawton social media about the demolition of the building at the corner of 67th Street and Cache Road. People were concerned about the businesses there. Others mourned the loss of the Eagles mural.

But most Lawton residents were asking, "What's going in its place?"

Some commenters speculated another car wash. While others were certain that the corner of 67th Street and Cache Road is where Lawton would be getting its second 7 Brew location.

An article from The Lawton Constitution, published, Sunday, Feb. 8, stated that a $650,000 construction permit was issued by the City of Lawton for 7 Brew location at 6518 Cache Road, which is located at the corner of 67th Street and Cache Road.

The 7 Brew corporate office has confirmed that a 7 Brew location will open at 6518 NW Cache Road.
