I'm sure if you asked ten different people across Oklahoma to give an example of what they considered "weird" or "odd," you'd probably get a wildly eclectic collection of answers.

Personally, I think mud tires on 22" wheels are pretty weird. Like buying a hat and never thinking to have it shaped. Skinny jeans over boots... that sort of thing... but to each our own, right?

Luckily, for the really far out, there's an event coming up to showcase Oklahoma's weirdest stuff. It's the Odd Oklahoma Expo, and it's coming to Enid on March 21st.

What Can You Expect?

Surely it's not just a bunch of pretend-cowboys shining the chrome on their squatted, never-hauled-anything trucks, and you're right. It's not that at all.

Billed over on the VisitEnid website as a "dive into the bizarre and extraordinary," I get the impression this one is going to somewhere on the spectrum between weird and WTF.

What some people find disturbing, others will see as interesting, or art. To each our own, you know?

I did a little digging on social media, looking at previous events, and found that it is a hodge-podge collection of odd stuff. Weird taxidermy, dark humor, very macabre type of stuff. It all looked pretty fascinating, and one heck of an experience to have in Oklahoma's own version of Corpus Christi.

If you'd like to go, just know that Enid is a bit out of the way out in Western-Central Oklahoma. It's just far enough from I-35 that when you start to think "Where is this place," it comes into view. If you go, have a blast. Here is the information, and also, while in Enid, hit the Atwood's. It's the OG store location, worth the trip.

Oklahoma Cold Weather Checklist

Those first big cold fronts always seem to catch Oklahoma by surprise. In one big swoop, the nearly 100° days turn into sudden freezes overnight. We'll still have warm days here and there throughout winter, but now is as good a time as now to start on your cold weather checklist. Easy small tasks that add up to bother energy savings and comfort in the home. They'll also allow you to avoid the big headaches and repair bills that happen so frequently in our bipolar climate.
