On Monday, March 2, an Elgin Public Schools bus was hit by a semitruck near the Medicine Park exit on I-44. Several students were taken to the hospital, and a local t-shirt shop is hosting a fundraiser for the hospitalized students.

Affinitee Shirt Company announced on its official Facebook page Tuesday afternoon that the company had launched a fundraiser for the Elgin students hospitalized after Monday's accident.

Affinitee Shirt Company hopes to raise $20,000 for the Elgin students.

The company's fundraiser is a $20 t-shirt with the text "Elgin Prays Together" that people can purchase. Affinitee is also set to donate 100 percent of the profits for the first 1,000 shirts sold, which would equal out to $20,000.

Affinitee Shirt Company raised over $2,000 within the first three hours of launching the fundraiser.

Within three hours of launching the fundraiser, the company had almost 50 orders placed for the shirt and had calculated $2,400 already raised for the Elgin students. In a video update on the company's official Facebook page, owner Katrina Thompson was blown away by the support the Elgin students have already received through the fundraiser.

T-shirts for the Elgin fundraiser can be purchased online.

Affinitee has adult and youth t-shirts available for the Elgin fundraiser. Both t-shirts are available for $20. T-shirt purchases for the Elgin fundraiser can be made online.

More information about the Affinitee Shirt Company's t-shirt fundraiser for Elgin can be found on the company's official Facebook page.
