Catch The Halloween Spirit in the Most Haunted Town in Texas

Pumpkin spice and everything nice is filling the air in one of the most haunted towns in Texas historic Jefferson, Texas during the month of October. Jefferson just so happens to be the 5th Oldest Town in Texas so you know it has to be haunted.

This is the month the Halloween Spirits begin to stir in this beautiful East Texas town, especially at the historic Jefferson Hotel featured on several ghost reality TV shows. The moment you walk through the front doors you get an uneasy feeling that someone is watching you.

Each room has a different theme but the one that creeped me out the most was the doll room and the clown room. If you stay in one of these rooms you better keep the lights on, one of the stories there is that a young woman committed suicide in one of the rooms and supposedly the woman still haunts the hotel.

Tours are available if you don't want to spend the night there as well as other ghost tours that take you to The Grove, a historic property where unexplained sightings of apparitions have been seen including the "Lady in White."

From 2020-2022 The Grove was named One of the 10 Best Haunted Destinations in America.

Be on the lookout for the Shady Ladies Witches of Jefferson who will be dancing and twirling their brooms around the cauldron looking to cast a spell on some unlucky visitor.

So, if you are looking for a quick road trip from Texarkana for some creepy fun then Jefferson is the perfect place with a variety of unique shops, antiques, and restaurants that are sure to tempt your tastebuds.

Wear a costume because downtown merchants will be handing out prizes for the best costumes and plenty of treats for the kiddos.
