According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the band clued fans into the news during their KISS Kruise performance over the weekend.

"We've been on the 'End of the Road' tour, and people have said, 'When is the last show?'" frontman Paul Stanley said. "So, we're here to tell you that the end of the road comes to an end on July 17, 2021 in New York City." As Stanley revealed the news, a giant countdown clock appeared behind the band, reading 622 days, 23 hours and 51 minutes.

The group has yet to reveal the venue of the final show or give specific ticketing information, but during their performance it was announced that 90 more tour dates would be confirmed shortly.

Discussion of KISS' farewell began in February of 2018 when the group filed a trademark for the moniker "End of the Road."

"It's not the first trademark that's been filed," said Stanley at the time. "I thought it was a terrific name, and I was surprised nobody had used it before. I wanted to make sure that when we used it, and there will be a time that we do, I imagine — I wanted to be sure that we own it and it's ours. When we wanted to go out and do the 'Hottest Show On Earth' tour, Ringling Bros. came to us and said, 'You can't do that.' It set off a light and bell for me. We've always had slogans or sayings that are synonymous with us, and this was another. Everything does end, in one form or another. When it's my time, I want to go out in style, and I want to go out guns blazing. So, when I came up with this idea, I thought let's make sure we tie this up."

By April of 2018, Stanley began teasing a "major KISS tour" for 2019, and eventually dates were announced in October of 2018. The "End of the Road" tour launched on Jan. 31 in Vancouver.

KISS will finish out the year with dates in Australia and New Zealand, before jetting off to Japan in December. They'll get a solid break before resuming the "End of the Road" tour in the U.S., with a March 4 Los Angeles start set for next year. See all their scheduled dates here.
