
Late Night Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests on Weapons, Drug Charges
Wichita Falls Police say a traffic stop has led to a weapons arrest. On Wednesday evening at approximately 11 pm, an officer was watching a vehicle in the 700 block of Baylor. The area is known for drug use and sales. The officer believed a drug transaction had just taken place and was stopped as they driver was leaving the scene.
One of the occupants told officers there was a gun inside the vehicle. Officers found a handgun in the backseat. A K-9 unit was called in and the dog alerted officers to drugs in the vehicle. Officers then found a plastic bag containing marijuana. Officers arrested 39 year-old Demarreo Johnson of Lawton. Johnson is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. His bond was set at $10,000. Also arrested was 22 year-old Darious Marquese Robinson, also of Lawton, OK. He’s charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana under 2 ounces. Robinson’s bond was set at $1,000 on each charge. Both men were in the Wichita County Jail Wednesday morning.
