Lawton Community Theatre Announces Cast for ‘Always… Patsy Cline’
Lawton Community Theatre has cast its upcoming production of “Always… Patsy Cline.”
The two-cast musical will feature Mandee Thomas as Patsy Cline and Allison Offield as Louise Seger. Thomas has appeared in LCT’s productions of “The Miracle Worker,” “Nunsense,” “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “Oliver” and “The Sound of Music.” LCT patrons have seen Offield in the theater’s productions of “On Golden Pond,” “Crimes of the Heart” and “Rumors.” The theater’s production of “Always… Patsy Cline” will be directed by Lawton Community Theatre’s Executive Director Chance Harmon.
“Always… Patsy Cline” centers on the friendship country singer Patsy Cline developed with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger. The musical, complete with country humor, true emotion and audience participation, includes many of Cline’s unforgettable hits such as “Crazy,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Sweet Dreams” and “Walking After Midnight.” The show’s title was inspired by Cline’s letters to Seger, which were consistently signed “Love ALWAYS… Patsy Cline.”
“I am thrilled to have Mandee and Allison as my two leading ladies,” Harmon said. “Both have been longtime patrons of the theater by either volunteering, serving on the board, or stealing the spotlight in a production. I know they both will give this production their all.”
Lawton Community Theatre’s production of “Always… Patsy Cline” will also be Harmon’s directorial debut at the theater.
“I have witnessed many LCT shows before taking my position,” Harmon said, “and I have always loved what I’ve seen on this stage. I’m excited, nervous and honored to direct a production for this theater and for this community. I’m also a big Patsy Cline fan so this opportunity is truly a dream.”
Productions of Lawton Community Theatre’s “Always… Patsy Cline” will take place Oct. 15-25 at Lawton’s McMahon Memorial Auditorium, 801 NW Ferris Ave. Social distance seating will be enforced, temperatures will be taken at the door and face masks will be required. Tickets are $15-$24 and are available for purchase online at www.lawtoncommunitytheatre.com, at the theater’s box office (located at 1316 NW Bell Ave) or by calling 580-355-1600.
Lawton Community Theatre is the longest continually running community theater in the state of Oklahoma. LCT has produced high-quality theater productions since 1952 with a mission to promote live theater and enrich the quality of life in Southwest Oklahoma.
