Celebrate the Reason for the Season with Lawton’s Live Nativity
As Jeri Christmas, I obviously love the holiday season. But I especially love the holidays in my hometown of Lawton. Holiday in the Park is one of my favorite Lawton holiday traditions, and I've been blessed to help kick-off its opening the last few years as the emcee for the Holiday in the Park Parade.
Over the years, Holiday in the Park has gotten even bigger and better! Last year, they expanded the holiday lights and added a skating rink. This year they have even more lights, plus the skating rink, and they added a ferris wheel and carousel!
Holiday in the Park also has other family-friendly activities, including food truck nights, Music in the Park and Movie in the Park!
See the Live Nativity at Holiday in the Park
And starting this weekend is the Live Nativity, hosted by Central Baptist Church! This is a wonderful activity for the whole family as it's a live reenactment of Jesus' birth. There's a manager with actors and all the animals that were present! You'll see donkeys, camels, sheep and so much more!
The Live Nativity will start this Friday, December 16, and run through Sunday, December 18. Showings will take place from 6-8 p.m. with six shows each night, starting approximately every 20 minutes. The Live Nativity will take place on the east side of Elmer Thomas Park, just north of the Patriot Pavilion. (Below is a map of Holiday in the Park.) The Live Nativity is free for all to enjoy!
