Lawton Public Schools Announces Remote Day

Oklahoma is in for a full week of winter weather this week! Lawton Public Schools recently announced that they will have a Remote Day January 31, 2023.

As of 3:45 p.m. Jan. 30, 2023, no other days for Lawton Public Schools have been announced for remote learning.

Winter Weather Outlook for January 31 through February 2, 2023

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma still has two more rounds of winter weather on the way. The first round came through Southwest Oklahoma during the morning hours of Monday, Jan. 30.

Based on the weather predictions for the rest of the week, we won't be surprised if LPS switches to remote learning for the most of the week.

But we'll have to wait and see!

School Closures Throughout Southwest Oklahoma

It looks like a lot of other schools throughout Southwest Oklahoma have announced closures or virtual/remote learning for tomorrow. Cameron University still hasn't announced their plans, and neither has Western Oklahoma State College. Some schools may be waiting till tomorrow morning. But the outlook isn't looking like it will get better until the end of the week.
