Looting & Theft Are Swelling in Oklahoma’s Tornado-Affected Communities
The last few weeks have been pretty brutal across Oklahoma. Widespread storms and several communities have been hit and devastated by tornadoes.
To add insult to injury, thieves have been out and about in these areas taking as much stuff as they can find.
This isn't finders keepers - this is stealing from those who've lost everything. If that doesn't make you angry on behalf of those suffering real loss, I don't know what will.
The solution.
Grandma is certain that she has the solution and isn't one to mince words. Like most old people, they've grown to express exactly what they feel with direct, intentional words.
"Dead offenders won't be repeat offenders."
Dang Grandma!
While most people hear such talk and think "It's just stuff, stuff is replaceable," that's fair. And it is. But it's the principle of things, isn't it?
I'll be honest with you, in the heat of the moment, in such an emotionally charged area such as a tornado recovery zone, I don't know what will play as legal or illegal, or more likely - right and wrong.
Still, people are saying the quiet things out loud in this particular situation and it doesn't seem all that wrong. What do you think should happen to people caught looting disaster zones?
