The internet is a gold mine. I've said that a million times over the years. YouTube is no different, even though it's harder to find little nuggets like this, it's still possible. I don't even know how or why it popped up in my suggestions, but the longer I watched it, the funnier it became.

Do you know what a yee-yee is? Apparently, that's what city folk are calling people of the red-neck variety now.

Worse yet, city slickers that have never been to Oklahoma think everyone lives in double-wide trailers... Which if you've ever been to OKC to tour the modern double-wides, they're luxurious these days. Huge master baths, big bedrooms, big living areas, open floor plans.

All in all, there was something in the content I didn't know... The big Windstar Casino in Thackerville is the second biggest casino in the world. That's pretty interesting.

I'm sure this YouTuber suffers from the same geological syndrome we all suffer from. Probably because Americans don't travel like we used to.

You know... Load the family up in the car and take off for some different place to see the sights. My mother sat in the backseat of the family car all the way from Houston, Texas to Yellowstone National Park in Montana. I love road trips too, but that's a ridiculous drive.

People these days only know what the TV tells them.

"Visit Chicago for the culture, stay here because you got murdered."

I know that sounds made up, but I've heard that in casual conversation trying to plan a vacation before. If anything, it really shines a light on how impressionable people remain long after those formative years have passed. Add in the distrust of the news media on both sides of the political spectrum, we're back to the days of believing it after you have seen it.

More Oklahoma Phrases That Stump Non-Okies

Depending on how old you are and how big your hometown is, these Oklahoma phrases will be either really familiar or not at all. If you're seeing and hearing these for the first time, add them to your vocabulary. As Okies die, move away, and non-Okies move in, these words are disappearing from the Oklahoma dialect.
