Oklahoma’s Best 4th Of July Celebrations Are Worth The Drive
The 4th of July in Oklahoma is a beautiful mix of patriotism, grilled meat, questionable decisions, and explosions that definitely sounded bigger than they were supposed to.
And look, if fireworks happen to be illegal where you live… that sounds like a conversation between you and your local municipality. There’s nothing more American than celebrating independence by breaking a few rules responsibly. Probably.
Also, if you call the cops on your neighbors simply because they're shooting fireworks on the 4th, you're the bad neighbor on the block. This is America. Don't be the person who would have so obviously sided with the British during the revolution.
Is it going to be a loud weekend? Absolutely. Will the fireworks likely go on a little too late? For sure. But is that any reason to be upset? No. If someone wakes you up celebrating America's 250th anniversary, let that be a sign to get dressed, go outside, and join in the fun.
Depending on your age, this is likely the only American 'tennial you're going to experience.
But if you’d rather leave the pyrotechnics to the professionals this year, Oklahoma has no shortage of incredible Independence Day celebrations, fireworks shows, festivals, and small-town traditions worth checking out.
Here are some of the best 4th of July events happening across Oklahoma this year.
