Let's hope this doesn't jinx us all, but Oklahoma is having the best month ever. With a ton of positive things happening in the state, the national acclaim is something we're not all used to.

Normally, when Oklahoma is in the news, it's more or less something that makes at least half of us all cringe, and it tends to flip-flop depending on the topic, but April 2025 could be Oklahoma's best month ever!

Here's a quick rundown of the big positives so far this month.

The Boys From Oklahoma.

The Sooner State is currently coasting off what was the largest concert event in Oklahoma history.

It was four days of music that saw over 200,000 fans with tickets sold in every single US state come together inside Boone Pickens Stadium for 100% Oklahoma-original Red Dirt music, and the country is still obsessed with the fact it actually happened.

Those who went are still amazed that all four nights went off without a hitch, and we're all super impressed that the weather cooperated throughout the entire weekend.

It was such a tragic day that nobody thought could happen in The Heartland, but monsters don't typically play by the rules.

For the anniversary, instead of casting out with angst and rage at what had transpired, Oklahoma came together and experienced a brief moment of unity on April 19th. A very rare thing these days when we're all hopelessly torn over the dumbest things like politics.

Not only did Netflix release a new documentary on the events of April 19th, but President Clinton was welcomed back to the Sooner State to give what ended up being a very heartfelt message about togetherness and how Oklahoma could lead the nation to a change in the divisiveness America is experiencing at the moment.

Forgetting past and present politics, that was a great moment for Oklahoma.

The OKC Thunder is Favored to Win It All.

Not everyone follows sports, including me. I'm the type who ignores whatever season it is, except for the one or two games a year that catch my attention. This is true of a ton of people across most college and professional sports.

Right now is the time to remind people that the OKC Thunder are killing it!

Not only did the Thunder set a new playoff bad-beat record, winning a game over Memphis by 51 points in the first round of the playoffs, but the Thunder are heavily favored to take this success all the way and win the NBA Championship this year.

They managed to carry the momentum of that 51-point first game victory into game two, and while only time will tell, it appears OKC is at least going to make the second round if nothing jinxes it.

The Weather is Relatively Nice.

I know, it's hard to swallow a pill like this when tornadoes and flooding have affected portions of the state, but overall, the weather has been pretty chill in April so far.

Daily highs are really comfortable, overnight lows are still chilly, and most of the Sooner State really couldn't ask for better spring weather.

Since all good things come to an end, the peak of severe weather season is looming, or at least that's what the headlines designed to get click-thrus for digital advertising sales are telling us. Let's hope this amazing weather holds out for another week.

Is that all?

In the course of conversations we had on the topic of how amazing April has been in Oklahoma, that's what we've come up with. I fully believe there's more great news to be heard throughout The Heartland, it just hasn't made it to me just yet.
