Oklahoma is the Cheapest State in America to Own a Dog
When you ask people why they choose to live in Oklahoma, you hear tons of usual reasons. Some people actually like the climate. Others appreciate culture and rich history. The oil industry brings some, agriculture keeps others here, but all in all, the lower cost of living is probably the biggest reason people love Oklahoma.
Everything is cheaper in Oklahoma. Homes, land, cars and travel, healthcare, insurance, etc... are all generally lower in most individual cases here in the Sooner State. And according to Market Watch, Oklahoma is the cheapest state to own a dog.

It's the sort of statement that may get an eye-roll here or there because there's no such thing as a free puppy, but when you compare the cost of dog ownership over the life of an average dog, Oklahoma is #1 nationally in pet affordability.
