Oklahoma Officially Has A Professional Selfie Photo Studio

You know, there's a little piece of me that thinks... if my parents had smarphones growing up, Boomers would be just as vain as the Zoomers and younger Millennials are today. I can't tell you how many times I'll be stopped at a light and look around to find the dime-piece taking selfies in their car. It's a personal game. And don't get me wrong, I get it. I cringe at some of my early social media posts from my twenties. Been there, done that. Of course, my O.G. selfies were taken the traditional way... in the mirror with a good old fashion digital camera.

Oddly enough, the older my parents get, the more selfies of them I see in my newsfeed. A new haircut, a big 'ol largemouth bass, sometimes just random selfies I want to believe were posted by accident. Is Zoomer culture starting to influence Boomer culture now? I know my fourteen year old nephew still snaps two dozen selfies back at whichever girl he's talking to at any given moment, I think that's weird too. I mean, it's just texting but with extra steps... the photos and whatnot. Maybe he hasn't been on Snapchat long enough to learn all of those photos don't disappear. Yeah... they show you memories and junk now, ever picture saved to a cloud to be used as political or social ammunition one day.

I know, I haven't gotten on topic yet... The selfie culture that everybody thought would die off as Boomers adopted it suddenly got a new boost with a new company aimed at making the practice more pristine... A professional selfie studio that you can rent space in and do your thing. It's called Tulsa Selfie Studio, and it's exactly what it sounds like. For as little as $18, you can rent a little time in a professional studio to capture your ideal selfies to share with the world. At that price point you have to share with everyone else, but as with most things, there's an exclusive option for a "Private Studio" if you're willing to toss out $50-$150 for that experience. Given the indulgent and narcissistic vibe that run rampant these days, I'm sure it'll be a popular thing for a while. I'm surprised Lawton doesn't have one. Maybe the City of Lawton can get on board and put a profiteering business into the mall they paid too much for even though the general public cried for them not to.
