Oklahoma Heads Into Round Two of Severe Weather Threat
Oklahoma heads into day two of a multi-day severe weather setup, and today’s storms could pack a little more punch than yesterday.
What is in store for Oklahoma?
UPDATED FORECAST
The weather models have changed a little bit since this morning, and not for the better. Severe weather threats have ramped up and been enhanced across the board for your Tuesday.
Storms are no longer expected to be scattered, now widespread with an emphasis on rotating storms.
The hail sizes and predicted "most likely" areas have gone through a change too. Hail now up to the size of softballs is expected in not all, but the most severe storms.
The tornado outlook has also elevated. It's slowly going up as we go through the day, now between low and moderate on the scale, but the area of interest has become better defined.
If you've been outside today, you can feel it in the atmosphere. Very warm, very humid, and quite the breeze blowing - at least in SWOK. Mother Nature has all of the ingredients for what could become a long day.
Wednesday Severe
While not as many storms are expected, Wednesday is looking like a prime day for an even higher chance of tornadoes. That being said, the National Weather Service is expecting fewer storms tomorrow than what we could see tonight.
Fewer storms, but potentially more potent. And all the same, it all depends on the atmosphere. This early into the severe weather season, forecasts and weather models aren't as dependable as they are in May and June. Anything could happen.
Stay weather aware.
