I never knew how cork was harvested until I watched this. The best part is when they remove the bark from the cork oak tree the crunching popping sound that it makes. It's amazing how it comes off the tree almost in one piece in large strips. I guess after harvesting the cork they won't be able to return for more cork for ten years or until the tree reaches it's maximum thickness with it's bark. No wonder cork is so expensive.
