In what may come as shocking news for fans of both bands, Corey Taylor said he is open to the idea of  Slipknot and Mushroomhead sharing the stage for a show together in the future, seemingly looking beyond the longstanding fabled feud between the two camps.

On Taylor’s recent solo tour where he entertained questions from the audience, someone asked if Taylor thought the two bands of masked men, who have had their share of drama in the past, would ever play a show together. What would follow is an answer most fans were not expecting to hear: “Maybe.”

After boos rang out through the crowd, Taylor clarified that the feud that existed in the past was not directly with Mushroomhead, but with their fans. He tells the story: “My problem has never been with that band, my problem was with their fans at the time. The first time we played Cleveland, their fans came down, mind you we didn’t f—ing say s–t, their fans came down and threw everything but rocks at us. They hit Paul in the face with a padlock the size of my fist; this is while we’re onstage.”

But, that wasn’t the end of it: Slipknot exacted their revenge that night. According to Taylor, “When we got done playing, we took all of our s–t off and went into the audience. There were a lot of them, but there was all nine of us, there was Machine Head, and all of our friends from a band called Amen – and let’s just say we f—ing handled it right there.”

Taylor ended the story saying, “If it’s one thing I’ve learned, you don’t hold on to this s—, you let it go.”

And in letting go, Taylor said he would welcome doing a show with Mushroomhead, but he didn’t stop there, he had a bigger vision, saying, “I’d love to put that together and just see what f—ing happens – Slipknot, Mushroomhead, Gwar and Mudvayne.”

Now that would be a tour.
