Sounds of Flutes to Fill The Air In Medicine Park
With fall finally upon us, it can only mean it's time for southwest Oklahoma's most relaxing music festival of the season, as Native American flute players from across the country converge on Medicine Park.
The air in Medicine Park will be full of the relaxing sounds of flutes this weekend, as it once against presents the Medicine Park Flute Festival, held in conjunction with the Medicine Park Art Walk on Saturday and Sunday. Headline the Flute Festive will be Painted Raven, featuring Annette Abbondanza and Holly Harris. The duo combines Native American flute music along with prerecorded instrumentation to create a unique sound.
The festival, originally was held in Norman, OK, is now on it's eighth year in Medicine Park. There will be 14 performances through out each day of the festival, featuring native American flute player from the area and from across the country. Local performers include Reed Alder, who will not only perform, but will act as emcee of the festival.
