The Medicine Park Polar Plunge Was Postponed Until This Weekend
Thanks to Mother Nature's moodiness the annual Medicine Park Polar Bear Plunge was postponed to this weekend. Event organizers had to make the unfortunate call last Saturday for the safety of all involved.
Even though it had warmed up some outside to a little above freezing, there was still ice everywhere even in Bath Lake itself. It would have been a little too Polar Bear to jump into a frozen Lake, not to mention dangerous. So mark your calendars for this Saturday, February 12th if you still plan to take the plunge!
I admit I've never actually done the plunge myself, I'm what they call a cold wussy. However, I do enjoy watching others participate. If you've never gone to the Medicine Park Polar Bear Plunge you're missing out. Even if you don't take the plunge yourself it's a great time and there are tons of activities and family fun.
The Medicine Park Polar Bear Plunge is a week-long celebration that wraps up with the grand finale of the plunge itself. Sadly due to the weather, they were unable to do the plunge but if Mother Nature cooperates it'll happen this Saturday (02-12-22) at around 2:00-pm that afternoon. It's sponsored in part by Park Tavern.
I knew something was up when I didn't see any pictures or video from Medicine Park on Saturday. I was stuck at work and couldn't make it out. Hopefully, I'll be able to go this weekend to be a part of the 2022 Polar Bear Plunge. Just in case, If you're planning on going take some pics and video of the action and post it for those of us who may not be able to attend. It's always a good time to see everyone all dressed up in their crazy costumes. You can stay up to date with the plunge by visiting the official Facebook page.
