If all your favorite bands are from the '70s and '80s, make room for at least one from the modern day: Tanith. The group features Satan guitarist Russ Tippins on the six strings and behind the mic and they've just announced their debut album, In Another Timealongside the release of the "Citadel" single.

Let's be clear: this isn't some half-baked worship of metal's olde gods. Tanith's sound harkens back to the time where the lines between hard rock and metal weren't blurred — they flat out didn't exist. "Citadel" is episodic in its design, shifting from adrenalized, galloping metal to doomy atmospheres with the male/female vocal combo establishing a sense of majesty.

Listen to "Citadel" below.

Bassist/vocalist Cindy Maynard describes the album as having "great riffs, lots of melody, interwoven parts, and twin fucking guitars!" She adds," I think the record is refreshingly different from so many other records being put out now, and the analog warmth of the recording definitely adds to the feel and experience."

There's a vintage authenticity to In Another Time as guitarist Charles Newton explains, "The analog equipment we tracked with affected not only the mood but also the creative process. Real analog equipment from the '60s and '70s has a distinct sound, feel and even smell."

In Another Time comes out on May 24 through Metal Blade. Pre-order the album here and scope out the artwork and track listing below.
